Hi, I'm Anne.
I am a junior at the University of Maryland (UMD) majoring in Biological Sciences. I plan on pursuing a Ph.D. in bioengineering, with a focus on genetics and immunology. After completing a Ph.D., I envision working with other like-minded scientists in the field of genetics and immunology to discover concepts and cures for genetic diseases and disorders.

My Research
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)
May 2019-Â March 2020
National Institutes of Health
There is a direct correlation between the gene STAT4 and the severity of symptoms for SLE. My team and I successfully created an optimized assay to assess the phosphorylation of STAT4. This has allowed for crucial information, previously inaccessible, to be compiled in future experiments for lupus patients with STAT4 polymorphisms.
